This is a very nice Imperial German WWI 1 4 Liter cup, made from steel which was then covered with porcelain enamel. This was the standard material that many WWI Canteens, mess kits, and other items were made from. It is sturdy and corrosion proof, as long as the porcelain is intact. It also ensured that the water or other contents would not be contaminated, and would be fit for consumption. Unfortunately any type of
