This is a very nice example of the very hard to find Springfield Model 1896 KragJrgensen Carbine, which definitely looks to have been reconditioned at some point. The metalwork is mostly a very dark blue, and there are definitely signs of buffing to remove past oxidation. This has made the receiver markings somewhat faint, however it also makes this a really great looking example of a Krag carbine. It measures
