This gasket interfaces between the two halves of the crankcase, and keeps oil, air, and debris from entering the crankcase during operation of the engine. Made of a hardened and durable paper teflon material, this gasket is vital for proper operation of the engine! Any time the crankcase is taken apart, this gasket should be replaced.
