Called in German a Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber, this genuine badge is constructed of silvered stamped zinc alloy, making this a desirable "Hollow Back" version. On this example, as with most, the silvering is almost completely gone, and the entire badge now has a slate gray oxidized zinc patina. Only the pin hinge and wire catch on the reverse still have intact silvering. The design consists of an oval oak
