Cordella, Brunello Montalcino other_regions_italy the 2004 Riserva Bricco Boschis

the 2004 Riserva Bricco Boschis San Giuseppe needs another 5-10 years in bottle before it starts drinking well

Very very sweet and powerful and alcoholic

vibrant acidity and some overall austerity

Rinaldi’s Cannubbio captures the floral qualities of Nebbiolo but with surprising muscle to back things up

92/try from 2010+

Cordella, Brunello Montalcino other_regions_italy the 2004 Riserva Bricco BoschisMade with certified organic fruit, the Cordella 2015 Brunello di Montalcino shows a note of scorched earth or burnt ember that I recognize from some of the other Brunelli from this warm and sunny 2015 vintage. The wine is not overripe per se, but the warm conditions of the vintage have instead endorsed toasted or charcoal like aromas. Those smoky tones are backed by dark fruit, cherry confit and blackberry preserves. Try out some barbecued beef ribs
